The Sixth Floor Museum is currently looking for a part-time HR Assistant. This position's primary goal is to help with the clerical duties of the HR office so that the HR Manager can focus on Museum initiatives and growing the Museum staff. The HR Assistant will help with filing, on boarding, creating ad hoc reports, phone screening, and other duties throughout the office. This role may also assist in employee training, lunch and learns, staff meetings; along with any new projects the department decides to start along the way. It's an exciting role where creativity is rewarded once the daily tasks are done.
The HR Manager and the HR Assistant are the only two employees in the HR office, so mutual respect is necessary. Additionally, since this role will be working with sensitive and private data- discretion, integrity, and confidentiality are of the utmost importance. Finally, a basic understanding of employment law is preferred. The HR Manager would love to see someone who is either a seasoned professional or someone wanting to be a seasoned professional as a member of the team. The final candidate will absolutely have drive, ambition, and a can-do attitude. It is quite possible the "other duties as assigned" bullet point will be frequently called upon as the HR office and this role begin to take shape.

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources or similar field.
Prior administrative experience necessary; experience in Human Resource field preferred.
Ability to handle all situations and employees with an open mind, fairness, and integrity.
Strong professional demeanor; with the ability to keep information confidential.
Strong data entry skills and accuracy skills.
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
Advanced experience with Microsoft office, specifically in Word and Outlook. Strong Excel skills.
