We have a unique full-time HR specialist position available that focuses on benefits, payroll, and other HR initiatives!
Updates, maintains, and explores new applications within our HR Software, Namely.
Assists with the recruiting process for internal positions including but not limited to posting ads, reviewing resumes, phone screens, and interviewing.
Ensures that all new hire documents are complete and available for audit when necessary.
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of recruitment and retention efforts. Perform other duties as required and assigned.
Responsible for handling all aspects of benefits administration for the company including but not limited to health, dental, vision, life/disability, and retirement plans.
Fields benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure a quick, equitable, and courteous resolution.
Oversees open enrollment, life event changes, and the 401K and Pension administration.
Runs reports for auditing purposes to ensure the integrity of the data.
Coordinates activities and meetings with benefit carriers and brokers.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of employment laws at the federal and state level, worker's compensation, FMLA, and ADA, ERISA and other applicable employment laws.
Handles unemployment claims, Workers Compensation, COBRA, and related HR claims.
Manages/monitors updates by processing status changes, new hires, terms, direct deposit elections and other voluntary deductions.
Processes biweekly payroll and remits all payroll related benefit payments.
Prepares all monthly payroll and benefit payment journal entries for the general ledger.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in both benefits administration and full-cycle payroll administration. Qualified candidates must also possess a thorough knowledge of applicable employment laws at the federal and state level including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and COBRA. To be successful in this position, the candidate must also have excellent organization, documentation, and follow up skills. The ability to communicate effectively in front of people as well as through written correspondence is also mandatory. Candidates must have an Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources or another business related field. A background in accounting is a plus.
