This position processes data into HRIS system including new hires, terminations, job title and salary changes etc. Assist employees with payroll questions. Create and run payroll reports. Provides assistance to Associate Director of payroll as needed.
Payroll – Run New Hire and Term Reports after each pay period, assist with Time Clock Review during processing of payroll each pay cycle. Follow up with employees when they complete a W-4 change on-line to make sure we receive the hard copy for the files.
Data entry for New Hires, Terminations and any misc. data entry into the Payroll system.
Fax tax notices to Exponent HR, filing after each payroll, as needed, assist with any other administrative duties.
Prepare semi-monthly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees (multi-state, high volume).
Create payroll and management reports utilizing reporting software. Investigates payroll tax issues, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations; Maintains an effective record system and audits quarterly payroll tax schedules.
Maintain a high level of payroll compliance knowledge (federal, state and/or local) as it applies to sec 125, 401(k), Deferred Compensation plans, imputed income etc.).
Assist in the development and recommend procedures to increase operational effectiveness of Payroll Administration; may assist in the testing of system upgrades/updates.
Respond to all employment verification's.
Resolution on all inquiries related to paid leave balances.
Assists Supervisor with payroll related audit(s)/questions.
Assist with any large HR projects throughout the year.
Other duties as assigned.
3 or more years of direct payroll processing experience required.
Strong research and investigative skills required.
Excellent organization skills.
Ability to be an independent worker with a team player attitude.
Ability to multi task and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
College degree or equivalent experience.
Intermediate working knowledge with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint with advanced working knowledge of Excel (Office 2010 version).
Experience with Workday HCM preferred.
Office – work with computers, copiers, and scanners.
