The Vice President of Human Resources (HRVP) will be replacing the retiring incumbent and shall be responsible for initiating, designing, implementing, communicating and coordinating all policies, practices, and programs related to all human resource functions of the Company. The VP-HR will report directly to the President/CEO and work closely with all Vice Presidents.
VP-HR Primary Responsibilities
Continuing review of all human resource policies, programs and practices, both existing and conceptual, to ensure Acme Brick Company maintains a proper balance between the needs of our customers, our associates, and shareholders. Such policies, programs, and practices include, but are not limited to:
Compliance with laws, regulations and judicial interpretations relating to:
State Unemployment Insurance
Various regulatory agencies, including EEOC, OSHA, MSHA, DOT, PBGC, and the NLRB
Various state agencies in which we operate
All other Human Resources related requirements
Functional, Logical and Efficient Organizational Scheme
Job Descriptions and Competitive Wage Compliance Scales
Associate Recruiting and Orientation
Associate Training, Career Development, and Retention
Associate Performance Appraisal Program
Associate Assistance Program
Labor Contract administration, interpretation, and negotiation

Conceptualize, recommend and execute long and short-term human resource goals and objectives.
Assist all officers in developing, updating and executing Acme Brick Company's Long Range Strategic Plan.
Plan, organize staff and train the Human Resources department to precisely and efficiently conduct its duties in a highly professional and responsive manner.
Develop and manage the annual budget for the Human Resources Department that is consistent with Acme Brick Company's goals and objectives.
Provide technical advice, knowledge, and counsel to others as human resource matters.
Initiate and maintain an effective communication channel to continually train, educate, motivate and listen.
College degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; related graduate degree preferred
10-15 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, Benefits Administration and/or Risk Management
Experience in multi-location, multi-state, multi-subsidiary manufacturing and delivery environment
Experience in multi-location warehousing and distribution environment
Experience in labor relations and negotiations
Ability to read, write and speak at an executive level in English with Spanish as a preferred second language
Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office and related tools
