Our Chamber is currently seeking a part-time Human Resources Manager. This valuable member of the team will enhance the organization’s human resources by assessing and improving employee relations and human resource-related policies, programs, and practices. This person will report to the CFO/COO.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and descriptions for all positions in an accurate and timely manner.
Reviews and improves the recruiting and interviewing program, (i) provides advice regarding candidate selection, and (ii) conducts and analyzes both entrance and exit interviews.
Reviews and improves comprehensive onboarding and off-boarding processes.
Provides advice and assists with the maintenance of the organization’s processes to establish and measure performance goals.
Monitors employee performance through review and improvement of the quarterly and year end appraisal process and partners with management to address performance issues proactively.
Actively involved in (i) resolving employee grievances and (ii) providing advice regarding employee coaching, discipline, and counseling.
Maintains employee files in an efficient and effective manner in compliance with federal and state requirements.
Provides advice and works with consulting or legal team to update the employee handbook and related policies annually.
Provides advice regarding employee benefits and related plans and programs
Promotes the culture of the organization and establishes programs to support and further employee engagement.
Researches compensation, benefits and general human resources trends, and makes recommendations to management based on findings.
Assesses when to reach out to consulting team for higher-level guidance or to elevate discussions for consideration of compliance and best-practices in sensitive matters.
Knowledge and understanding of all HR disciplines, best practices and their application.
Good grasp on latest HR compliance.
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
Proven ability to work independently.
Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
Strong work ethic.

Ability to handle confidential matters with appropriate discretion.
Proficient in all Office products and Internet research.
Bachelor’s degree (Masters’ preferred) in Human Resources or a related field with at least five years of pertinent experience; HR professional certification credential preferred.
