The Sixth Floor Museum has an opportunity for an experienced Sr. HR Generalist in Dallas, TX. The Sr. HR Generalist role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence. This position reports to the CFO and works closely with senior leadership to support the Museum’s initiatives.
As a department of one, the Sr. HR Generalist will be responsible for the overall HR management and delivery of Human Resources services. The primary focus of the position is to support company programs, policies, and practices in all areas of Human Resources to include recruitment, staffing, management coaching, training and development, communications, performance management, employee relations, and EEOC/labor law compliance. This position not only supports companywide initiatives, but also makes suggestions and creates solutions to assist in the overall success of the Museum.
Ideal candidates will be HR certified, have proven experience in the non-profit world, and have a passion for HR solutions and process improvement.

Bachelor’s degree required.
5 years broad-based Human Resource experience covering, but not limited to core areas such as recruitment, employee relations, training, compensation, and benefits administration.
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP required.
Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration.
Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefits laws.
Strong relationship management and influencing skills with experience in partnering with coaching and building credibility with senior leaders.
Strong and proven track record of empathy and credibility.
Able to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
Demonstrated experience provided creative solution to address HR challenges and implications of the organization business strategies.
Ability to use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways.
Ability to use judgment, creativity and sound technical knowledge to obtain and recommend solutions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Effective presentation, negotiation, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work in a team environment.
