Employee and Labor Relations, HR Generalist, Training and Organizational Development

JOB PURPOSE The HR Manager works collaboratively with all departments to link HR goals with the business strategy. This position provides support in the areas of employee relations, recruiting/staffing, compensation, organizational design, HR Metrics, employee benefits, performance management and employee development.
Employee Relations •Supports the organizations in resolving a variety of employee relations issues, including job performance, promotional increases, benefits and disciplinary action and attendance issues. •Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations of employee issues. •Coaches supervisors on employee feedback and follow up on employee issues. •Works with supervisors/managers to improve work relationships, build morale and improve retention. •Facilitate executive meetings with employees.
Recruiting/Staffing •Determine best and most cost-effective sourcing strategies for each position. •Develop position descriptions for new positions and update current ones. •Create and post all positions on the company’s applicant tracking system. •Review and screen resumes and forward to hiring managers.
• Provide guidance to the business units in the area of hourly & salary administration. • Support departments in the development of position progression plans and associated compensation strategy.
• Backup/assist with processing payroll in ADP as needed.
Performance Management •Provides day to day performance management guidance to Supervisors/Managers on coaching, counseling, career development and disciplinary actions. •Coaches and enforces appropriate documentation and follow up by Supervisors/Managers.
Employee Development/Training •Facilitate employee focus groups to drive improvements in employee engagement. •Assists with scheduling and delivering of training and development workshops. •Collaborates with company leaders and management to identify employee training and development needs.
HR Policy Guidance and interpretation •Counsels supervisors and managers on appropriate resolution of issues based on company policies and practices. •Analyzes HR programs and policies and recommends improvements. Develops and recommends updates on employee policies based on current changes in legal and employment bodies of law. •Applies in-depth knowledge of legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance. •Recommends and makes changes to the employee handbook.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Solid working knowledge of employment law •Ability to read, interpret and create policies •Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management •Required to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE •Bachelor’s Degree •10+ years progressively responsible HR experience, required •HR Certifications a plus •Expertise in HR policies and procedures •Strong knowledge of hiring processes •Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations •Sound judgment and problem-solving skills •Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion •Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office suite •Solid working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, a plus
