The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management in supporting the organization's strategic and operational objectives. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, pre-employment, onboarding, payroll, employee relations, benefits administration, HR recordkeeping, performance management, policy implementation and employment law compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures all employment practices comply with federal, state and local regulations.
Partner with management to resolve employee concerns and performance management needs.
Collaborate on strategy and policy development as needed or required by legal updates
Enters and maintains employee changes promptly
Establish and track Human Resources metrics; provide reports on data and analysis to leaders as needed (i.e.: FTO, Turnover, Time to fill)
Protect the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) of employees.
Responds to inquiries regarding employment including unemployment claims, support orders, employment verifications and compliance reporting while adhering to the deadlines.
Performs benefits administration to include enrollment, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees; collaborate with benefit vendors concerning the best selections for group coverage.
Conducts recruitment efforts for internal positions.
Full understanding of immigration compliance standards (including visas).
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance and support (coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions) to management and direct reports as needed and manage the review process.
Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to ensure continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
Creates and updates compensation strategy through market analysis and pay surveys consistently.
Anticipate business needs and recommend solutions using solid understanding of HR tools and market competitive practices.
Develop an annual and long-term Human Resources plan that identifies the Human Resources direction as a component of the company’s overall strategic plan.
Performs other incidental and related duties as required.
Design and employ team building activities.
Seven years of progressive experience in Human Resources position.
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration.
Strong understanding of state and federal requirements and regulations.
Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication
Capable of compiling and analyzing employment data to guide strategic planning
SHRM and/or HRCI credentials required.
