The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing all HR related duties at a professional level and works closely with senior management in supporting the organization’s operational objectives. This is a hands-on position responsible all employee-related issues, recruiting, pre-employment and onboarding, terminations, employee relations, benefits administration, HR recordkeeping, and ensuring the Enterprise is in compliance with employment laws and government regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with the design and contract negotiations related to the self-insured and insured health and welfare benefit programs.
Administers the Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, and Section 125 Cafeteria Plan, and the 401(k) plan.
Ensures all of the benefit plans are in compliance with regulatory reporting and disclosure requirements.
Responsible for HR vendor management.
Backup Assistant Controller, as needed, to manage Payroll.
Maintains general liability insurance contracts and files, including Worker’s Compensation coverage for all of the companies.
Handles all worker’s compensation reporting and ensures claims are processed correctly through the carriers
Coordinates the onboarding process from offer letter preparation, internal notifications, document completion through the orientation process for all new hires.
Responsible for the communication of personnel policies and procedures, including periodic reviewing and updating as needed with Senior Leadership approval.
Maintains the Employee Handbooks and updates as required to comply with current policies and government compliance.
Produces HR reports as needed for management and government reporting.
Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in all areas of Human Resources.
Hands-on experience in a one person HR office handling all HR functions.
Experience in the construction industry a plus.
Knowledge of principles and practices of HR Administration
Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Strong understanding of state and federal requirements and regulations.
Experience managing and administering 401(k) Plans.
In-depth experience with managing and administering Health & Welfare Plans.

PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
