This position will oversee traditional Human Resource functions while building strong relationships across departments, developing and executing policies and processes with an eye towards continuous improvement, and helping to foster a professionally rewarding work environment resulting in high employee satisfaction and retention.
Responsibilities
Develop employee relationships on an individual, team, and departmental level, focused on building trust and open communication.
Engage with other organizational groups to design, develop and implement people-strategic programs and events that promote the company’s commitment to culture.
Work with executive leadership to develop organizational strategies, employee messaging plans, and maintain effective internal communication channels to drive organizational alignment.
Further the company’s reputation as a preferred employer though: employee engagement initiatives that help empower and motivate employees and promotion of the company culture and values.
Responsible for strengthening the organization’s approach to leadership and skills training through a holistic talent development program, promoting continuous learning, career growth, and succession planning endeavors.
Partner with the executive committee to understand and grow the organization’s human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
Oversight and coordination of company-wide performance management framework, driving improvement throughout the year through working with managers and employees on goal setting, coaching, conducting effective reviews, etc.
Lead talent acquisition planning and recruitment initiatives to assure critical roles and diversity initiatives are prioritized and openings are filled in timely fashion. Develop and maintain networks of professional contacts, employee incentives and other strategies to limit the use of outside recruiters and payment of placement fees.
Provide strategic guidance to managers on effective handling of employee relations issues.
Oversight of the Human Resources department and all traditional HR functions including regulatory changes, employment law, trends, best practices, policy and procedure creation and compliance, OSHA requirements, benefits program strategy and administration, hiring, onboarding, compensation strategy, payroll support, termination procedures, and general day to day workflow of the HR department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related business field
10+ years of experience in a human resources supervisory position
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
Self-starter with the ability to build trust and influence others
Demonstrated ability to develop programs with minimal oversight
Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees
Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
Attention to detail and good judgement
